(That no one knows we are given birth to figure it out!) Okay keeping philosophy aside,

I am one of those who are struggling to find their dreams and make them true,

Yes talking about us all we all want that. Currently I am exploring some skills which includes web development , graphic designing and pursuing Btech in computer science

Frankly speaking to all the same question struck in mind that why will people be reading my articles in the vast ocean where there are millions already but , 

I decided to do it not to have a large crowd in my articles I wish that happens but the primary goal is to reach out to those who are sharing same page with me.

I may have a bit of knowledge to make their journey a little smoother and also because I wanted to brush up my writing skills.

A New Beginning

Hey learners, This is Harsh jaiswani welcome or welcome back to the place. Today is the first episode of the sharing_the_learning. This is going to be an introductory blog.

I am a 12th pass out student who is ready to explore the new world called college. I am from science background and going to persue btech in c.s as my undergraduate degree, besides my educational qualification I am one of those hustlers trying to figure out what i am supposed to do with my life as being a part of this digital generation we all had vast exposure about opportunities , fields , working areas and especially the social media all thanks to the worst and best fellow our internet

Sharing the learning is a series of episodes in which I will be sharing my day to day learning being blessed as a good student in studies later on I realized that there are same tips and tricks followed to be a good in studies with the focused study as well and as we watch youtube videos about there I realized some how unknowingly I followed them and this was because of learning from the situation to life is a great teacher we all have read these quotes so life teaches us so many things in our day to day life which if followed even the 10% we can live our dreams life so this series is going to be an attempt to make myself realize as well as share my experience although I haven’t done anything big yet but just to share those small learning

we are moving forward in life we experience explore things and get a learning I am going to share so as to remind myself to take lesson and to help everyone learn from my mistakes or achievements “to human is to err” don’t be afraid to commit mistakes but be terrified of not learning from them and repeating them.

Sharing the Learning

Namaste learners myself Harsh jaiswani welcome or welcome back to the place Being underconfident is a huge problem but being overconfident is a much bigger one because underconfidence will make you loose opportunity rather overconfidence will work to worsen the situation

The best approch is to keep balance between the two as being a bit lower than confidence level together having the great knowledge about the situation and topic will help us shine in every aspect

This is one of those lessons which I have realised or say learnt many a times till now because I have been a guy who has an immense ego or attitude whatever you say, It has been with people who are not much connected with me feel that I am a egoistic person instead people near to me say I am humble one ! But for the others as well I try not to look arrogant and rude but you when you are a bit good in something specially studies or something like which elders adore, you tend to have atitude.

I will share a story from my school life I used to have some sort of good grades in one exam and the next exam of that would have been gone bad because unknowingly I crossed that fine line between confidence and overconfidence and that failure in exam throws me back to under confidence level again next exam I used to do better at times I used to be happy if I would failed in the pre final paper because it somehow helps the final paper to be better from this real story what I wanted to tell you is that there is a very fine separation very fine between I can do this and only I can do this. Sometimes in overconfidence we tend to say things like I will make it done and end up in struggle to make it or you might go on justifying a wrong point under the overconfidence.

I say being a underconfident is better than being overconfident because even that some sort of nervousness or stress helps you to control yourself from exaggerating things

Always try to be humble speak the least you can and try to listen as much as you can do not speak until and unless you have a firm knowledge about the topic. Always remind yourself that you don't know much, try to learn more and calmly take all the perspectives of a situation in account. These few steps will help you to be confident simultaneously ensuring that you are not crossing that fine line 

There was person from our college who has said this to me on the first day when he came to know I had rank under 1000 that 'humare college ki placement yaha pe sbse aachi h lekin mehnat teko krni padegi aur jin din tune yeh 1000 rank soch ke apna coller uper kiya tu gya' this line hit me hard because having a great prior experience about confidence you know! I had to be caution about this no matter how much you succeed the important thing is to digest it and make use of it which most people cannot due to overconfidence so please avoid that and I will too try hard offcourse okay guys wrapping on the note that you will excel in your life without crossing that line.

There was a quote which read ' when you get money raise you should increase standards of giving not standards of living so be humble

This is one of those lessons which I have realised or say learnt many a times till now

Over Confidence

What we have been programmed since childhood is study now or work hard now and your future will be great and when that future comes some other person in our life dictates the same

Before we completely be in denil that this is incorrect, lets think on the fact that this line is being said many of those as well who have achieved great height in thier life althogether doing the fun much more than us even in every stage of their life then what's the thing that makes the diffrence ? i.e the absence of balance in our life and a absoulute right kind of balnace in their's

Today I would like to quote one thing as much I have heard read or experinced everything you can think of can be practised and achieved. You name it creativity, passion, talent, intrest all those things people say are inborn can be practised and achieved.

Even a mentor of mine said passion means to suffer for a worthwhile cause that cause could be different at different ages.

Maybe life's circumstances helped all those, you say lucky ones or they practiced it but it could be achieved. So one way to actually have fun and altogether make a great self-growing empire is the balance you must know where to let yourself indulge in that fun and where to hold yourself back even most of the time what we do and call it fun is eventually an attempt to fun which goes by gossiping about others or making fun of others. Being realistic you will encounter that the real fun will only be that 10 percent of the things you say are fun, which are actually a memory a fun to be experienced.

So our motive should be you just participate in that fun only and the rest of the time you can actually focus on your work and do whatever you are doing to the fullest.

The Real Fun

The author starts the chapter by explaining the power of minor improvements in all the parts of a process to make the whole thing a big success

How even the slightest improvement in our smallest action can lead to the drastic change

which is the sole idea of the 'aggregation of the marginal gains' you broke a larger thing into smaller pieces and improve 1% in each of those to get the compounded results

Here’s how the math works out: if you can get 1 percent better each day for one year, you’ll end up thirty-seven times better by the time you’re done. Conversely, if you get 1 percent worse each day for one year, you’ll decline nearly down to zero.

Time magnifies the margin between success and failure. It will multiply whatever you feed it. Good habits make time your ally. Bad habits make time your enemy

The first Chapter has already set the bars very very high for all the upcoming chapters

I had two realizations while reading it that hit me really hard

1-The first one was that we underestimate the importance of small steps, minor improvements, and small habits (atomic habits) in our daily life and tend to think that massive success comes from massive actions

Rather there is no overnight success, that success which seems overnight to us has tremendous efforts and hard work of day & night

The efforts which seem to be not at all paying its a waste, One day it becomes the reason for the overnight success all those efforts gets collected and once we reach the threshold limit we get results out of it

What we just have to do is keep up the spirit to the time by which we reach the threshold limit

2-Author quotes 'You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.' We tend to focus on goals also we have heard alot of times to set goals for our lives and all that motivation stuff that a life without a goal is meaningless

Firstly in beginning, we were not sure how to make goals especially I used to think a lot about what could be my goal but later on, I realized I need to take one step at a time, and eventually I will find my purpose

Now as we have focused a lot on goals but suddenly author is asking us to focus on systems rather than goals, speaking of goals they give us a direction on where are we heading on the other hand system helps us to reach there by developing a process

In a system we can get happiness not only by achieving goals but also chasing them

Talking of my experience I was working on 4 to 5 things simultaneously I used to set a goal for 1 and then focus on that only due to which I suffered in each of them at a point but building a system dividing time for each will help focus on everything and enjoy the process which will lead to the success!

The first Chapter has already set the bars very very high for all the upcoming chapter, I had two realizations

Chapter - 1 Atomic Habits

A person is successful not because he/she did anything drastically different from an unsuccessful person instead he had a strong reason to do it!

Difference between a successful and an unsuccessful person is not about the goal, it's about the efforts person makes to achieve that goal, and accept it or not none of us makes efforts without a strong reason for anything.

We all have our plans and in spite of such aspiring and great plans we fail, why because execution is the way to success, not the plans.

I also, have a lot of plans but am not able to follow them because I am not putting in the effort required, which recently I realized if you read the story of any successful person they all had a really really strong reason to do whatever they have done today. Which is the thing that kept them motivated at work and they did it

I didn't had that reason yet, I have this thought in mind to help the community grow & I love to do what I do but it's vague, The exact purpose needs to be clear else procrastination overpowers you and eventually you end up wasting time.

We all have experienced it no matter hard you try you don't wake up early in the morning unless or until you have something scheduled that you cannot miss. Like I remember I used to feel drowsy only on holidays because other days I had the excitement to go to school

So it's not about the goal or about the plan, but about a reason, and not only me I guess every one of us who is trying our way out is in the search of this reason for ourselves.

Hope we find our reasons soon and we get a chance to uplift society as much as we can!

The person who has a strong reason to work became successful

Find Your Reason

If a person is trying to change a habit first thing he/she do is congratulate themself for knowing that something is going wrong which needs to be corrected

Now he/she should know where the change(s) needs to be made.

According to the author, there are 3 levels of a person Outcome, Process, and Identity what we try and do is we put a goal in front of us(outcome) and we try and work towards it (Process) which signifies that you are trying to become someone else which you are Not!

But what you actually should be doing is thinking and acting the way a person would think and act which you want to become (Identity)

Basically what you believe about yourself is your identity and changing that changes our habits easily and effectively

The author explains this with a beautiful:-

Imagine two people resisting a cigarette when offered a smoke the first one says 'No thanks I am trying to quiet' while the other replies 'I am not a smoker.

The first one is trying to be someone else who, He is not and the second one changed his beliefs and accepted that he is not a smoker anymore

The more pride you have in a particular aspect of your identity, the more motivated you will be to maintain the habits associated with it.

That is exactly how a class topper and an average student of the class is made, they both were similar in studies in their childhood, one child ones did well in studies and the other did a little average. All the people around appreciated the good one and compared the other. Eventually, after multiple these kinds of events, the difference between them arises because the good one believed himself to be good in his studies and the average one did not.

It is all about what you believe about yourself at the deepest level If you want to transform your life create beliefs that your dream person will have in himself/herself.

Becoming the best version of yourself requires you to continuously edit your beliefs, and upgrade and expand your identity.

The True Change in a person is the change in his/her identity!

Chapter - 2 Atomic Habits

This chapter tells you about how the habits are formed in the first place and also what is the actual way to control them

It's not your habits will be changed after reading or you will get the way to do it but it's like a math's formula you got the concept and the way but until and unless you don't know how to apply it it's not gonna work for you

In this chapter that concept is explained where it states that we first time face a problem find a probable solution to it and then every time we face that same problem we tend to apply same solution.

Repetedly doing this creates a habbit in ourselves which he explains through a loop having - 

Cue - the situation which triggers the habit

Response - the act of doing that habbit and

The last, Reward - which at the first place you wanted for which you started that habit

Habits are like a tool for our minds we can use them in a way that they can create us whatever we want or we dont pay attention to them so that they can create whatever we dont want

The habits are good as they help to automate things, we dont have to think of the same problem, again and again, to solve it which frees up space in our brain to take up new challenges

But on the other hand, some bad habits without our control over them keep on repeating, therefore, it's necessary to know how to create new habits and destroy the unwanted ones

The way to do it is that 4 step approach cue craving response and reward

The habbit you wanna create have that situation around you, make it attractive, make it easy and satisfying on the other hand if you want to destroy a habbit make it inaccesible, make it unattractive, make it difficult to do and unsatisfying

These 4 steps will lead you to the habits you want and help you get rid of the ones you dont want!

This chapter tells you about how the habits are formed in the first place and also

Chapter - 3 Atomic Habits

The fourth chapter actually explains the word 'Habits' and how we practice a thing repeatedly and unknowingly it becomes our identity to go for it.

He has taken many examples the one which I was able to connect a lot was this:

He explains 'Military analysts can identify which blip on a radar screen is an enemy missile and which one is a plane from their own fleet even though they are traveling at the same speed, flying at the same altitude, and look identical on the radar in nearly every respect. During the Gulf War, Lieutenant Commander Michael Riley saved an entire battleship when he ordered a missile shot down—despite the fact that it looked exactly like the battleship’s own planes on radar. He made the right call, but even his superior officers couldn’t explain how he did it.

Becuase I have seen those radars not actually but because I have an inclination towards technology I have seen few of these virtually. They really look identitcal even all flying obejcts in a radar look similar

It's the power of the human brain that observes and analyses the surroundings and after repeated tasks, it automates the process which on one hand helps to automate things a lot, but at the same time if a mistake is committed it will be repeated uncomnsiously

The best way to deal with this is to make unconscious conscious Japanese do to it by the technique called 'pointing and calling' used at Japanese railways to call out loud all the events like the flag is green, Train is leaving and speed is this at this time. which helps them minimize the mistakes to a greater extent

We can’t always explain what it is we are learning, but learning is happening all along the way, and your ability to notice the relevant cues in a given situation is the foundation for every habit you have.

It is not only about creating good habits essentially there are no good or bad habits there are just habits that gives you a solution to the problem due to which you repeat them and called them a habit

But some of these habits tend to solve short-term problems or give short-term rewards but harm us in the long term which we term as bad habits. On the contrary, good habits are the things we do that might be a pain now but will give us a sense of success and accomplishment in the long run.

We need to know or in other words, make unconscious conscious about what habits are we pursuing for which we need to trace our daily habits and rank them good or bad according to our goal about how we want to become does these things align with them or not

Doing this we will realize the mistakes we are making firmly and we will be working on them rather than regretting about them

We can’t always explain what it is we are learning, but learning is happening all along the way

Chapter - 4 Atomic Habits

In this chapter, two methods of creating habits are explained or we can say how our sub-concious mind works around habits is explained.

One thing which is almost obvious is that trying to destroy a habbit is far more difficult to replace it with a good one or just to stop cue for it as discussed earlier so these methods can do wonders around how we can create or implement new habits in our schedule

1) The first method is 'Implementation Intention' it states that if you want to continue doing a thing daily be it excercising or waking up early in the morning you need to make it obvious to yourself by saying I will be doing (habbit) at (time) in (location) by describing these three things you make it totally obvious to yourself that you will be doing that whenever the condition of time and place are fullfilled. it works as a cue for your habbit

Broadly speaking, the format for creating an implementation intention is: When situation X arises, I will perform response Y.

2) The second method was 'Habit Stacking' In which you connect your old habits with the new ones which you want to make like, once I will wake up I will make my bed after which I will exercise for 1hr. doing this will increase the odds that you will be doing these works in the series as you already have a habbit of waking up.

The major purpose of both these habits is to make us firm about the habits we are going to do. Because in the general scenario what we do is think about a habbit that we have to do and leave it upon the fate that someday out of somewhere we will have the thought and inspiration to do that work. It might be the case for one or two times but consistently it dose'nt happens.

For that, you need a routine that's the reason everyone suggests us to make a routine. this is what routine does as well make us totally aware of our upcoming task which increases the chances of work being done.

I will be doing (habit) at (time) in (location)

Chapter - 5 Atomic Habits

At the beginning of the chapter, the author explains an experiment undertaken in hospital cafeteria where Originally, the refrigerators located next to the cash registers in the cafeteria were filled with only soda. They added water as an option to each one. Additionally, they placed baskets of bottled water next to the food stations throughout the room. Soda was still in the primary refrigerators, but water was now available at all drink locations.

Over the next three months, the number of soda sales at the hospital dropped by 11.4 percent. Meanwhile, sales of bottled water increased by 25.8 percent.

This was a social experiment done to prove that without even saying a word to anyone how much the environment affects a persons habbits and choices.

It symbolizes that the environment plays a vital role in determining our habbits. We all humans tend to act in a certain way according to our environment without even the concious efforts. It's the cues in the environment that drives most of our actions.

Everyone gets motivated by listeing to a podcast or a motivational talk but tend to return to the same position in a while it is because they get a drive to work but they didn't alter their environment according to their needs which brings them back to sqauare 1

It is necessary that we should design our environment in such a way that motivates us to work rather to pull ourselves down.

It is the basic reason why parents and teachers explain us to keep our rooms clean and books on desks and stick notes or formulas on the wall because it creates the cue to study.

Together with the cue the context also matters alot suppose we are in a group of four laughing on a topic while the 5th one standing with us dose'nt its not because joke was not good but because he did'nt had the context of it.

The things that stand out in our environment are those which affects us the most and based on which a buisness technique 'Suggestion Impulse' works

In which all the expensive alternatives or items which are of lesser need are kept in eye sight in the super markets while cheaper alternatives are at the bottom and the needes are kept at the last in super marts for which you need to travel the whole mart and you buy something which you does'nt needed!

So it becames very important to be with like peoples who inspire you to do great and create the environment around you which will grow you in all aspects!

Everyone gets motivated by listening to a podcast or a motivational talk but we tend to return to the same level in a really shorter time

Chapter - 6 Atomic Habits

In this chapter, the author explained a really strong pillar of our habits which is cue-induced wanting, the things which we crave for are not only due to the habits that we have formed but rather one major reason behind those is also the environment the cue which is associated with that habbit

Whenever we encounter that cue, we tend to crave that habbit and specifically that reward and we pursue it

It is an external trigger that causes a compulsive craving to repeat a bad habit

Most of us think that resisting a bad habbit is the way to get rid of it or self-control is the way out but thats totally not the way how the author suggests to us for which he gave us 2 examples

In the first example, the soldiers of vietnam were heavily heroine addicts until they were at their camps once they returned to their homes 99% of them got rid of that addiction nearly overnight the addiction which was considered to be permanent and irreversible

It was not because of the resistance or self-control rather at home their did'nt got the cue of doing it, in the camps, all the fellow soldiers were doing that and the constant stress of war triggeed cues in them of doing

But the radical change in their envionemnt changed their habits this is the reason why people go to rehab, stop addiction, and when come back became addicted again. because they came back into the same environment which had the same cues

In the second example Patty Olwell, a therapist from Austin, Texas, who started smoking, she would often light up while riding horses with a friend. Eventually, she quit smoking and avoided it for years. She had also stopped riding. Decades later, she hopped on a horse again and found herself craving a cigarette for the first time in forever. The cues were still internalized she just hadn’t been exposed to them in a long time.

You can break a habit, but you’re unlikely to forget it. Once the mental grooves of habit have been carved into your brain, they are nearly impossible to remove entirely—even if they go unused for quite a while.

And that means that simply resisting temptation is an ineffective strategy.

Self-control and resisting temptation are short-term solutions to the problem rather discipline is the key, A more reliable approach is to cut bad habits off at the source. One of the most practical ways to eliminate a bad habit is to reduce exposure to the cue that causes it.

It’s easier to avoid temptation than resist it you just cannot stick to positive habits in a negative situation for a long time

Chapter - 7 Atomic Habits

If I ever got a chance I will be wanting to be able to read minds, Now, On this different people can have different explanations but I have two for it

1) It will be great fun to hear people out from their minds. Imagine going to a public place like a park or a mall and hearing people about their thoughts

Indeed they will have a sense of humour in them and I will be able to actullay help them because all have that inner voice in ourself but we are seldom able to get it once I will be able to read it I can help people consulting

2) I believe that no matter how well you earn, the lavish life you have or whatever, at the end all that matters the most is how many beautiful relations you have with people around you because human is a social animals and utill and unless you have good relations with the people you cannot go ahead

Once a wise man said if you want to go fast in life move alone but if you want to go long ahead in life you will have to acquire the skill of making relations with people and in a way that they attach to you for life

Now how will reading minds help me do that, Eveyone around us do whatever they do becuase of a strong reason and with a right intent sometimes might there be a wrong intent but there is always a strong reason to do an activity which if I got to know I will be able to manage relations

The reason people seprate is not because of one fight they had at last instead it's the numerous misunderstandings took place during the course of time they were together

So we will be able to understand the intent and reason with which we will be able to handle our relations properly and see the third eye view of a situation!
